Kerala Cacographies I — REVOLUTION

Part of the Chromosonic Editions collection, this work began as a found image encountered in Kerala, India. Layers of paint, weathering, graffiti and accidental marks have accumulated on the surface until the wall itself begins to resemble an abstract painting.

Across the image appears a single word in Malayalam: REVOLUTION.

Removed from its original surroundings and reframed photographically, the surface becomes something ambiguous — part street fragment, part painting, part sign. The work sits between documentary photography and abstraction, preserving the physical traces of a particular place while allowing colour, texture, language and chance to create a new visual composition.

Rather than constructing the image, Luca Angius isolates an existing arrangement from the environment and gives it a new context: a found visual event transformed through observation, framing and selection.

Each print is produced locally to order, signed and individually numbered in a limited edition of 144.

The print is supplied unframed and without borders, allowing the image to extend fully to the edge of the paper. It comes with four small magnets and four self-adhesive metal discs, so it can be mounted directly onto the wall without a conventional frame.
