A close-up of a weathered painted surface, where layers of red, white and blue have been scraped, cracked and rewritten by time. Fishermen Courtyards Schinoussa sits somewhere between photography and abstract painting: the original object almost disappears, leaving colour, texture, accident and traces of human presence.

Printed at A1 size (59.4 × 84.1 cm), the work has enough scale for the details of the damaged paint and timber to become almost architectural. also available as A2 size.

I particularly like this print displayed without a frame, fixed directly to the wall with four small round magnets. It keeps the image raw and immediate — less like a picture contained by a frame, more like a fragment of surface transported into another space. The magnets come free.
